Our goal for the Hop House is simple; create an original atmosphere in which to serve passionately prepared southern foods and amazing craft beers, with a cult-like dedication to our guests and staff.
Chef Stephen Edwards and I left our jobs nearly 20 years ago, with plans to open a great restaurant together with this simple goal in mind. Mice and men know well what happens to plans, and that idea seemed lost to the annals of what might have been. We each opened different restaurants, but the desire to work together on a one-of-a-kind eatery has never left us.
A conversation nearly two decades later has led to all that you see here, and we hope that you will enjoy the amalgamation of delicious, southern-inspired foods, cold beer, original cocktails, and stellar service that we have created for you.
We only know one way to craft a restaurant like this, and that starts with our staff. To that end, we have decided to close the Hop House on Sundays. We understand that Sundays are a very popular day for dining out, but we are convinced that by having passion for the well-being of our staff, they will have passion for the service they give you.
Come on in and give us a try. Tell us what you like. Tell us what we can do better.
